Back in August, The Smashing Pumpkins released a pair of singles titled Cyr and The Colour Of Love. Now, the band have announced CYR, their 11th studio album set to arrive 27 November through Sumerian Records.

CYR, which features 20 songs, will be the Pumpkins’ first double album since their acclaimed Melon Collie And the Infinite Sadness from 1995. The band’s last studio release was 2018’s Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.

On CYR, frontman Billy Corgan is joined by founding members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, as well as longtime guitar player Jeff Shroeder.

In tandem with their latest album, a five-part animated series entitled In Ashes will be launched. The series – written by Corgan, and featuring music from CYR – was animated by Portland-based creative studio Deep Sky. The first two episodes will launch 25 September. Watch the trailer for In Ashes below.

In addition to a digital release, CYR will be launched in several vinyl and CD editions. The deluxe box set includes two records in an exclusive Black Ice colour, a 24-page lyric booklet, poster, iridescent foil-embossed art inserts and more.
