For players who need the toughness of a hardcase but find it too bulky to transport, the new series of ProRockGear gig bags could be the solution. The models in the Armourguard Wood Series are built from nylon-clad wood shells that can still be strapped on like a backpack.

The cases come in sizes for regular electrics, Les Paul-style guitars, dreadnoughts, basses and classical guitars. Each features a form-fit wood shell that’s been covered with heavy-duty 600D nylon. Soft interior foam, a padded neck rest and rubber bumpers on the bottom of the cases ensure your instrument’s safety while you’re on the road or on the subway. The cases are flexible, too, with detachable shoulder straps, a nylon handle and a large storage pocket to fit your cables and accessories.

All cases list for $59, with the exception of the bass bag, which lists for $60. For more information, check out prorockgear.com.
