Yola recently performed two songs on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and one was a cover of Elton John’s 1973 classic Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Watch her performance above.

The track appears on the deluxe edition of her debut album, Walk Through Fire, produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. In a recent interview with Guitar.com, Yola described the initial recording experience of that album as “terrifying”, but ended up bonding with Auerbach over their appreciation of 80s music.

Yola also performed Faraway Look, the opener of Walk Through Fire, during her appearance on the late-night talk show. Check it out here:

In other news, Yola has received four nominations for the 2020 Grammy Awards. The Bristol native is up for Best New Artist, Best Americana Album (Walk Through Fire), Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song (both for Faraway Look). The award show is set to take place on 26 January, at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, California.

Walk Through Fire is out now on Easy Eye Records.
