KISS cancelled their concert in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania earlier today (26 August, ET) after guitarist-singer Paul Stanley tested positive for COVID-19.

It’s uncertain how the diagnosis will affect the remainder of the band’s tour. “More information about show dates will be made available ASAP,” the group said in a statement. KISS went on to explain that “everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated”.

The statement continued: “The band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows. The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines.”

Stanley, taking to Twitter to dispel rumours that he was hospitalised, wrote that the rest of KISS and their crew have tested negative for COVID.

“I had been sick with flu-like symptoms and was tested repeatedly and was negative. As of late this afternoon I tested positive,” he wrote. “A full press release will be issued shortly about upcoming KISS shows.”

Stanley’s illness could throw a wrench into the band’s End Of The Road world tour, as the band had dates locked in through to July 2022. Their next show is scheduled for this Saturday (28 August) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
