Epiphone launches two new Inspired By Gibson ES guitars
Arriving in a number of vintage finishes.

Alongside its new Inspired By Gibson acoustics and Wiltshire, Coronet and Crestwood reissues, Epiphone has launched two Inspired By Gibson ES models: The ES-339 and the ES-335.
ES-335
The ES-335, inspired by Gibson’s 1958 original, is a semi-hollow electric with a (relative to most solid-bodies) quite a large body, but not as large as a fully hollow guitar. It’s constructed with a layered maple top, back, and sides, as well as a solid maple tone block. The mahogany neck sports a rounded C, while at the top of things is the new Kalamazoo headstock.
The pickups here are two of Epiphone’s Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers, with a standard control layout – the pickup selector switch being located just below the bridge. The potentiometers fitted are CTS pots.
The ES-335 is available in either Cherry or Vintage Sunburst – but, for a little more, there’s the ES-335 Figured. This comes with a figured maple top finished in either Blueberry burst or Raspberry Tea Burst.
ES-339
Epiphone’s ES-339 features a smaller body than the ES-335, but with similar aesthetics. Like it’s bigger sibling, its construction consists of a layered maple top, back, and sides, as well as a solid maple tone block. The mahogany neck, again, has a rounded C profile.
Electronically, it’s much the same story, with two Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers fitted, controlled by two volume and two tone controls – all CTS pots.
The gloss finishes on offer include Cherry, Pelham Blue, Vintage Sunburst, and Natural.
Pricing
The ES-335 lists for $549, while the figured version bumps the price up to $599. The ES-339 lists for $499. Find out more over at Epiphone.com.
