Fender’s Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster officially returns – and it’s available in four classic colours
The no-nonsense one knob-one pickup guitar could be yours for $1,299.
The wait for Fender’s Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster is finally over, with the announcement of an official launch following months of teasing from Fender and the Blink-182 guitarist himself.
Just like the original, the Tom DeLonge Signature Strat comes in four finishes — Surf Green, Daphne Blue, Graffiti Yellow and Black. The guitar also sports a comfortable modern “C” maple neck with 21 medium jumbo frets on a 9.5″ radius rosewood fingerboard.
As DeLonge explains, the guitar features a “one knob and one pickup” setup, making it an alluring prospect to fans of no-frills guitar designs.
Loaded with a single Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker, guitar is capable of delivering immense output and turbo-charged tones, perfect for those chunky power chords and crunchy riffs. As for controls, there is only a single master volume combined with a treble bleed circuit for you to worry about.
“I try to write music that is accessible and easy to play and enjoy, so that people can come along for the ride. This simplicity really inspired this new signature Stratocaster,” DeLonge says. “It just has one knob and one pickup, which just makes it easy to turn it up, play and sound great, especially important when you’re in front of a crowd and already have plenty to think about.”
Other highlights include vintage-style tuners and a hardtail Stratocaster bridge with block saddles for extra tuning stability. DeLonge’s personal touch also comes by way of a custom crafted neck plate featuring his original artwork.
To complement the release of the Limited Edition Tom DeLonge Stratocaster, Fender is also launching an accessories capsule, which comprises a To The Stars-themed strap available in a variety of eye-catching pastel colours, a set of six medium gauge picks with custom graphics, and a bold Graffiti Yellow signature cable.
The limited-edition Tom DeLonge Strat will cost you $1,299.
