Keeley Electronics launches the Hydra – a stereo reverb and tremolo

Keeley Electronics has launched the Hydra – a pedal that combines high-fidelity Reverb and Tremolo sounds into a compact stereo unit.

The Hydra follows the Eccos delay and looper pedal – according to the brand the Hydra was created as the “perfect companion” to the Eccos.

You can select between three different flavours of reverb algorithm (spring, plate and room), as well as three different tremolo types (harmonic, vibrato and sine wave). The resulting combinations of sounds mean the pedal is already pretty versatile – even more so when you realise that the order of the tremolo and reverb can be switched around. On top of this, for some ambient soundscape sculpting, the pedal offers infinite repeats.

The pedal sports two footswitches – one to engage the reverb, and another for the tremolo. Other controls include tremolo rate and depth, as well as reverb dwell, mix, and colour. Secondary knob functions expand these controls even further, allowing access to deeper controls for both sound engines

The pedal comes with three preset slots, as well as support for tap tempo footswitches and an expression pedal input to control any parameter in any direction. You can hear it in action with Keeley’s official demo below.
