The RockBoard Power Ace 25 is a DC wall adapter aimed and handing the more milliamp-hungry effects on your board, with 2,500mA of nine-volt DC power.

While a DC wall adapter isn’t the most glamorous piece of kit, good power is essential to run your effects to their full potential. The continual growth of the world of digital multi-effects pedals has seen them become more and more common in pedalboards, which presents a problem for guitarists using standard power supplies. While some multi-effects boxes have an in-built PSU, others just take a standard centre-negative barrel connector but draw significantly more current than their analogue counterparts. Power supplies can max out at 250mA or 500mA – which isn’t enough for some effects. For example, the Line 6 HX stomp draws up to around 900mA.

The RockBoard Power Ace 25’s healthy 2,500mA on tap eliminates the worry that your pedals are being starved for power. And don’t worry about frying your expensive multi-effects units – unlike voltage, the amp rating of a power supply represents the maximum possible current, so a unit being powered by this power supply will still only draw the current it needs to run. The Power Ace also features automatic voltage adjustment from 100-240 volts – so varying voltage rates across different countries are compensated for.

The Power Ace 25 lists for €23.50, and will be available from the end of November. More information at shop.warwick.de.
