Summer NAMM 2019 Video: Dophix’s Michelangelo is a unique OD/boost combo
From Italy comes this boutique brand whose new dirt pedal is a solid, no-nonsense workhorse with stellar tones.
Italian brand Dophix has released Michelangelo, a versatile overdrive/boost pedal that can go from a clean boost to a light crunch to all-out distortion. This stomper is kitted out with JFET transistors, which give it a warm and tube-like sound.
The stomper’s drive section provides you with distinct OD flavours based on these three semiconductors: silicon, germanium and JFET. You’ll be able to sculpt drive further with B and H controls, which control the low- and high-ends, respectively.
The boost, on the other hand, can be toggled between two main options: preamp or output. Both can be modified from a range of zero to 15 dB.
