Is Epiphone releasing a Joe Bonamassa signature 335?

A photo from the bluesman’s Instagram suggests there will be two signature semi-hollows coming soon.

What a year, gear-wise, it’s turning out to be for Joe Bonamassa. After working with Fender on an amp and a couple of Telecasters, the bluesman looks set to launch a pair of signature ES-335s with Epiphone.

On Friday, Bonamassa shared an image on Instagram of two Black Beauties—one with his own autograph emblazoned on the fretboard. “Big thanks to Epiphone for ticking all the boxes and nailing these new 2018/2019 Joe B 355z,” the caption read, pretty much confirming the partnership.

While there aren’t any details on the pair of guitars, they look to be upscale Epiphone units. They’ve got actual Bigsby vibrato systems, all-gold hardware, black bodies with white bindings, and what may very well be Gibson USA Burstbuckers, if Bonamassa’s signature Epiphone Les Paul is any indication.

They’re not Bonamassa’s first-ever signature 335s, though. A few years ago, the guitarist worked with Gibson Custom Shop on a limited run of sunburst 335s—albeit without the Bigsby and for a far more unattainable price.
