Megadeth tease maiden voyage for MegaCruise
The metal-themed cruise will set sail in 2019.

Megadeth have unveiled the plans for its first-ever MegaCruise, which will launch next year. The floating festival, held aboard a cruise liner, will take voyagers across the Pacific Ocean.
Frontman Dave Mustaine teased the event in an interview on Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon. “We’ve got a huge festival that we’re gonna be announcing,” he said. “It’s really a big deal. It’s kind of the equivalent of Gigantour, but it’s a much fresher idea.”
Little else is known about the event—including the bands on the bill—except that it will take festival-goers “thrashing through the Pacific,” according to the marketing visual released so far. Megadeth are encouraging fans to sign up to the MegaCruise mailing list to receive updates.
Metal cruises are, of course, not exactly a new concept. Events like 70,000 Tons of Metal, Monsters of Rock and Full Metal Cruise—where DragonForce’s Herman Li recently played an underwater solo—have been around for years.
