Bikini Kill have delayed the March leg of their tour amidst the growing concerns surrounding coronavirus.

In a statement about the cancellation on Twitter, the band wrote: “We take the health and safety of our supporters, crew and opening bands very seriously, and given the situation in Seattle as well as the lack of information about the actual infection rate of the surrounding areas, it doesn’t make sense for us to go forward with any of the shows in the region.”

The band also urged fans to donate to the charity the shows were initially in support of, Interfaith Works Emergency Overnight Shelter, noting that their services to homeless people in Olympia will be more vital than ever during this health crisis.

Bikini Kill are among countless bands who have had to cancel or postpone tours due to the virus, including The Who, Pearl Jam and Carlos Santana.
