DragonForce have announced that their eighth studio album, Extreme Power Metal, will arrive at the end of September. Ahead of the 10-track record’s release, the Britsh power metal group have also uploaded a video for the opening track, Highway To Oblivion.

The video for Highway To Oblivion sees the band exploring a Tron-inspired cityscape as supersonic riffs are supplied by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman.

Li had a unique role in the album’s conception – parts of Extreme Power Metal were recorded on his Twitch livestream, and fans actively participated in the process. Commenting on the band’s forthcoming release, Li said that “the new album combines the best of DragonForce in an even bigger, more epic way than [they] have ever done before”.

Extreme Power Metal will be the band’s first record without long-term keyboardist Vadim Pruzhanov, who departed following 2017’s Reaching Into Infinity. The new album is due 27 September via Metal Blade.
