Eagles have once more delayed their upcoming Hotel California tour due to coronavirus. The dates were initially pushed back to autumn 2020, but now it seems the tour will take place in 2021.
The tour initially began in February 2020, throughout which they played their first leg of shows without issue. The set featured the entire Hotel California record in full, as well as a second-half of greatest hits. Now, the new run of concerts will begin with two nights at the Pepsi Center in Denver on 16 and 18 September 2021, and finish with two nights at the Chase Center in San Francisco on 22 and 23 October.
While the initial postponements seemed inevitable at the time, this second delay perhaps reflects a deepening anxiety surrounding larger stadium shows. The uncertainty around lockdown exit strategy measures across the world has meant later and later events are becoming affected by the pandemic.
Those who have tickets for the original shows should hold on to them, as they will be honoured at the new shows. Those who are unable to attend can request a refund via LiveNation or their point of purchase.
