After a five-year hiatus, power rock trio Ex Hex made a storming return in March with their sophomore album, It’s Real. The group recently stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers to perform a standout from the new record: Cosmic Cave.

The band were in fine form during the performance, with frontwoman Mary Timony and bassist-turned-guitarist Betsy Wright showing the audience a thing or two about shredding. Touring bassist Michelle Mae – of Make Up and Weird War fame – was also on the money with her bassline.

The performance follows the recently released music videos for It’s Real tracks Rainbow Shiner and Tough Enough. Ex Hex are also currently touring in support of the Raconteurs’ North American tour until 16 August. The trio will then embark on a solo tour beginning 19 August at The Met in Providence, Rhode Island.
