Becos Effects has joined up with guitarist Jordan Ziff for a new signature pedal, the Ziffer Overdrive.

The pedal has been inspired by Ziff’s approach to his core drive tone: using an overdrive pedal to push a 1959 Plexi amplifier. The circuit is based on the core of a Tubescreamer-style overdrive, but with a number of tone-tweaking options added to the control set.

There are the three knobs you’d expect to see here: gain, tone and level. Alongside these are two face-mounted trim pots for adjusting the mix of dry signal as well as the tonal quality of the dry signal.

There are also two mini-toggle switches: clip and deep. Clip changed the pedal’s clipping mode between asymmetrical, classic and LED. The deep switch engages a bass thickener for beefing up single-coils and retaining low-end when using a bass guitar.

The pedal is enclosed in a mini housing, with Becos’ signature black powder-coating. There is true-bypass switching, as well the option to use between 9 and 18 volts for your power supply.

You can see Ziff demo the pedal below.

The Jordan Ziff Signature Overdrive lists for $169.00 / €149. Find out more at becosfx.com.
