Ernie Ball Music Man refreshes 2019 Majesty with new pickups, finishes
John Petrucci’s popular signature axe just got better.
Ernie Ball Music Man has unveiled the 2019 edition of John Petrucci’s Majesty electric guitar. The Dream Theater guitarist’s signature axe has been refreshed with new DiMarzio humbuckers and will be offered in seven new finishes.
The humbuckers, Dreamcatcher (bridge) and Rainmaker (neck), are designed to both complement the axe’s tonewoods and meet Petrucci’s tone needs, according to the brand. The guitar has also been beefed up with a push/pull volume knob offering a gain boost of more than 20dB, as well as a piezo floating bridge tremolo pickup.
Other features on the 2019 Majesty include a new high-gloss polyester finish – applied to the entire guitar – and a mahogany through-neck. The model is also offered in seven new finish options, detailed below:
