Watch: IK Multimedia teases Brian May AmpliTube collection
It will rock you.
IK Multimedia has uploaded a video teasing a Brian May AmpliTube pack.
While not explicitly referencing the guitar hero, the 22-second clip is laden with Queen references, including a spinning sixpence, a certain stomping tune and the tagline “Tones That Will Rock You”.
While details are scant at press time, May’s AmpliTube collection might include emulations of his favoured signal chain: a Fryer Treble Booster – previously known as the Dallas Rangemaster – fed into a series of Vox AC30s. May’s tone is also crucially influenced by his Red Special guitar, and so there might be modelling that can get your axe sounding like the one-of-a-kind handmade model.
May isn’t the only guitarist to partner with IK Multimedia this year – the Italy-based company added Joe Satriani to its artist roster back in April.
