Watch: John Mayer demos his signature PRS Silver Sky

There’s nothing quite like having a musician demo their own signature guitar. Even better if it’s John Mayer on his PRS Silver Sky.

In a new clip from Musician’s Friend, the bluesman puts an Onyx-finished model through its paces. He wastes no time with chit chat, opting instead to let his playing do the talking, demonstrating the instrument’s smooth playability and sterling single-coil tone.

As you may recall, the axe caused quite the stir in the guitar world when Mayer teased its release last year. The guitarist’s announcement of new finishes in January also incited a similar fan furore.
