As the band have confirmed that they have begun work on the follow up to 2017’s Emperor of Sand in numerous interviews earlier this year, it’s possible Dailor could mean the group is gearing up for some studio time.
In an interview earlier this year with Rock Sverige, Brann spoke about the progress of the band’s next record: “It’s far from done. We’re working on it.” He went on to confirm Mastodon are aiming to time the release of the album for 2020, saying “I think next year would be smarter, on our part. We need to let people miss us, maybe.”
The band’s latest release was Stairway to Nick John, a single release of a cover of Stairway to Heaven, in tribute to their late manager.
