Early last month, Foo Fighters surprised fans with a live EP titled 00950025, which featured three tracks from the band’s early concerts. In more welcome news for Foos fans, drummer Taylor Hawkins has now said a new record might arrive in 2020. The new album would be Foo Fighters’ first since 2017’s Concrete And Gold.

In a recent interview with RockSound.TV, Hawkins said that the band “hopes to have a new record by next year”. He also revealed discussions held with frontman Dave Grohl over the Foos’ new material: “Well, from what I’ve heard from our fearless leader Dave Grohl, he has a lot of demos that he’s worked on and I think we’ll start, once this tour is over. I think not too soon after that we’ll start the process of putting the songs together as a band.”

Foo Fighters have been touring extensively since their last record. The rockers are currently on performing throughout the UK, with an appearance at the Reading and Leeds Festivals lined up this weekend.

In other Foos-related news, the band recently invited a wheelchair-bound fan up on stage to smash a guitar, and also rickrolled a London crowd by bringing Rick Astley on mid-set.
