Megadeth and Lamb Of God have announced a huge 55-date tour across North America later this year.

The massive undertaking, presented by SiriusXM, will also feature special guests Trivium and In Flames. The tour will be split into two legs, the first of which will kick off on 12 June in Bristow, Virginia, and end on 1 August in Concord, California. The second leg will launch on 2 October in West Palm Beach, Florida and end on 13 November in Reno, Nevada.

The tour announcement comes hot on the heels of news regarding Dave Mustaine’s recovery from throat cancer. It’ll be the band’s first headlining tour in North America since 2017. Speaking about the tour, Mustaine said: “Hello me! I’m back again, better than ever and coming to a town near you with Lamb Of God, Trivium and In Flames. If you want high octane metal madness this is the tour for you.”

“The world has never needed heavy more than it does today and top to bottom, this tour delivers!” Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton added in a statement. “Lamb Of God has toured with and been friends with all of these bands for years, but for all of us to be on the same bill is something extra special. Come early and stay late. This is THE metal tour of the year.”

Lamb Of God recently released their first new music in half a decade with the single, Checkmate. In an interview with Guitar.com, Morton described the new eponymous album, which is due out 8 May, as “very modern”. “I think lyrically it’s very topical. It’s very current in terms of what it’s addressing. It sounds very contemporary,” he said. The follow-up to 2015’s VII: Sturm Und Drang, the upcoming record will also be the first to feature new drummer Art Cruz.
