Tosin Abasi, best known as the guitarist for Animals As Leaders, is to open up an official Reverb.com store, selling 100 guitars, pedals and amplifiers.

Some of the gear you can expect to be listed includes Abasi’s Fractal AxeFX II XL as well as his AX8 – both with his personal presets dialed in, so you can play through the same settings he did on records and world tours. Abasi said about his Fractal Axe FX II XL: “I’ve been a heavy Fractal user since 2009. This unit was my main touring and recording rig for the entire The Joy of Motion writing, recording, and world-touring cycle. It contains the exact album and stage tones I used as well as some personal patches.”

He also had high praise for the AX8 Amp Modeler & Effects Processor, saying, “it’s literally like having an AxeFX that fits into a carry-on. It includes my personal presets for stage and more” Abasi used the unit on tours for The Joy of Motion and Madness of Many, as well as the Generation Axe tour with Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, and Nuno Bettencourt.

Unsurprisingly, many of the guitars that will be listed are extended-range, high-performance metal guitars from brands like Ibanez, Aristides, Strandberg, Mayones, and more. These include an Ibanez Custom Shop Prestige 8-String, an Ibanez TAM100 8-String, an Aristides 080 8-String, a Mayones Tosin Abasi Custom Regius 8-String, and a Strandberg Boden 8-String.

A lot of the gear going up for sale has a story, for instance the Mayones was a custom build Abasi requested to replace a stolen guitar, with Abasi explaining: “ Dawid [Dziewulskim, owner of Mayones] and the guys at Mayones have always been great to me. The quality of the buckeye burl is fantastic. The red Bare Knuckle pickups in this are a great touch and sound fantastic. It even has a removable ramp for fingerstyle players. This is about as custom as it gets.”

The store opens 26 February. Head over to reverb.com to be notified of when the store goes live, and for a sneak-peek gallery of some of the store’s listings. For more gear news, click here.
