For the last few days, the guitar world has been wondering what the ‘blackedxout’ hashtag was all about, having taken over the social media pages of a huge number of boutique effects makers. Now we know that it was teasing the new Blacked Out Reverb storefront, where 17 boutique effects makers are offering extremely limited-edition all-black effects pedals.

The pedals are a mix of new variant finishes, pedals that have never been offered in any alternative finish previously, and even some brand new pedals that have never been seen before, each limited to just 100 units offered exclusively through Reverb.

The two brand new pedals come from Old Blood Noise Endeavors and Adventure Audio. OBNE’s new pedal is the Minim Reverb Delay and Reverse, which is based on the brand’s Rêver reverse delay/reverb, while Adventure Audio’s Fuzz Peaks II is billed as a Twin Peaks-inspired take on the Russian Big Muff.

Both pedals are also being launched in non-limited edition form, but these Blacked Out versions are only available through Reverb.

Another key contributor to the Blacked Out store is Oklahoma brand Walrus Audio, which is offering three of their most beloved pedals in black-on-black finishes for the first time – the Julia chorus/vibrato, the Slö multi-texture reverb, and Monument tremolo.

The other pedals offered in the Blacked Out Reverb store are:
